Mechanical Design Engineer
Role Description
Energiot is looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the product and R&D team in Barcelona. The person will participate in the mechanical design of IoT devices applied to the monitoring of electrical networks, working on the development of parts, tooling, prototypes, and manufacturable solutions for products deployed in the field.
This is an ideal position for someone with practical experience in mechanical product design and development, manufacturing, and technical documentation, who wants to work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside hardware, firmware, and product teams, contributing directly to the development of real solutions for the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
3D Design and Drawings: They use software programs (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA) for digital modeling and the creation of manufacturing drawings.
Simulation and Calculation: They evaluate the behavior of the parts (stresses, tolerances, kinematics) to ensure their technical feasibility.
Material Selection: They choose the appropriate components (screws, motors, bearings, profiles) taking into account cost and regulations.
Manufacturability: They search for and select the optimal technique or process for the design and manufacture of each component in the different phases of product development.
Documentation Management: They create manuals, bills of materials (BOMs), and manage project revisions.
Qualifications
Essential:
Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience.
Advanced Vocational Training in Mechanical Manufacturing Design, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
Real-world manufacturing experience, not just conceptual design.
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Basic mechanical calculation knowledge.
Experience in tooling design.
Experience with sheet metal, machining, and 3D printing.
Spanish and English fluent.
Preferred:
Problem-solving skills.
Teamwork.
Good communication with the workshop/manufacturing department.
Organization.
Autonomy.
Proactivity.
Experience in technical documentation, BOMs, and revision management.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection.
